FAQs
How do I prepare for my semi permanent makeup appointment?
-Arrive 5 minutes prior
-No drinking caffeinated beverages, alcohol, taking aspirin, ibuprofen 2 days before your appointment. These have an effect of thinning the blood.
-No sun tanning, sunbathing 3 days prior to your appointment. Can't have you peeling during your appointment and I want to access your natural skin tone.
-Avoid plucking, waxing, and threading your eyebrows for a few weeks. It is important that I have all the hair I can work with. Hair will be removed that fails outside of your natural shape and the shape we agree on.
-Avoid any skin treatments for at least 2 weeks leading up to your appointment.
-No botox prior to your appointment.
NOTE: I reserve the right to cancel your appointment and you will be charged for my time if you do not follow proper before care prior to your appointment.

Does each procedure hurt?
Everyone's pain tolerance is different. Topical numbing cream will be applied to your brows while you fill out some forms and while we have a short consultation about your brows. Some people are very relaxed during microbladed and other clench their jaws. I personally have a low pain tolerance and have been microbladed & have had my lips done. The process is not unbearable. But then again, everyone has a different pain tolerance. Secondary numbing cream can be applied throughout the procedure. I'm quite sure you'll be just fine though and done in a wink! With a Brow lamination there is no pain at all.

Is there alot of downtime?
Not at all! Your brows will be slightly red and irritated immediately after your procedure but that will go down after a few hours. It will be barely noticeable and you can continue on with your day. Immediately after though your eyebrows will be dark and will be dark for a few days before peeling and flaking.
With waxing & brow lamination there will also be redness but you can return back to your daily actives immediately.
With Lip Blush, your lips will be swollen for up to 48 hours.

What is the difference between Microblading and Nanoblading?
Microblading is the process of slicing into the epidermis layer of the skin while Nanoblading is the process of depositing pigment into the skin. Both create the hyperrealistic look of hair strokes.

Why did you switch to Nanoblading/Nano Brows?
I believe in keeping the integrity of the skin which I feel Nanoblading/Nano Brows is better suited for longevity. Both Microblading and Nanoblading/Nano Brows give the same effect.

What is the upkeep/maintenance for semi permanent makeup?
Semi permanent makeup can last anywhere from 8-18 months. This is very dependent on your skin type and lifestyle though. Oily skin tends to need more touchups. The pigment is not placed as deeply such as a tattoo making it to have more maintenance required. I will not see any clients until at least 50% of their pigment has faded.
Lip Blushing, touchups every 1.5-2 years and required to maintain color and vibrance.

Do you work over previous artists work?
It depends on the depth, pigment, length of time and color for me to be able to properly work over previous artist work. Please send pictures to browsbynikari@gmail.com or schedule a consult to see what the best option would be. In most case scenarios you will need removal prior to me redoing your eyebrows.

Why do I need to let me eyebrows fade? Why can't I get them done every year?
Its super important to let them fade. This is to ensure that I can still deliver natural results. We need to let old work fade because skin can only hold so much pigment before it becomes oversaturated. When the skin becomes oversaturated new pigment that gets implanted will not heal properly or may not hold at all. Yearly touchups are necessary, I go by how much pigment has faded.

Skin Oversaturation:
If your skin is oversaturated with pigment or you have previous work I will recommend doing a laser or saline lightening service before I give you new eyebrows. This is to ensure old pigment doesn't eat or overtake new pigment being implanted. As the years go by eventually there will come a point where you will need removal to have a fresh canvas to work on again.

What is the cost, duration and difference between each service?
Please refer to the service tab for this information.

I'm going on vacation in the next few months. Can I get my eyebrows done?
Since I want the best results possible for you.... I HIGHLY advise that you wait until after you come back from vacation. In your aftercare Instructions you are advised to stay out of saunas, tanning beds and direct sunlight. This as well goes for bodies of water & direct water contact for about 10 days. The above, combined or separately could alter the pigment in your brows. I will not do a service within 2 weeks of you going on a suny vacation.

What is saline lightening/removal? How many sessions do I need?
Saline lightening is a non-laser tattoo removal technique used to fade unwanted semi-permanent makeup. It involves implanting a specialized saline solution into the skin, which works to lift and draw the pigment to the surface. Over time, the pigment is naturally expelled by the body or forms a scab that exfoliates, lightening the tattoo with each session. This method is gentle, safe for most skin types, and often used for corrections in areas like brows, lips, or eyeliner. Multiple sessions are required for desired results.
Its not guaranteed how many sessions each person will need but in most cases at least 5 are needed.
